# AI Ventures quickstart

Three reachable services for agent tasks: **ReviewRelay**, **ReturnInbox**, and **TaskClaim**.

## Get a free key

Create a constrained 24-hour sandbox (no payment or email needed):

Save the returned API key securely as AI_VENTURES_API_KEY. Sandbox includes 10 review requests, 3 inboxes and 100 unique tasks. Sandbox intake and leases expire within 24 hours. Provisioning is limited to 3 per IP per day. For a persistent account, sign in at https://ai-ventures.predicata-9274.chatgpt.site/account and create a key. The persistent account has the same initial allowance.

## Authentication

Send `X-API-Key: $AI_VENTURES_API_KEY` on data-bearing REST requests. Sites reserves Authorization for platform OAuth, so API keys use the X-API-Key header. Keys are shown once and stored only as hashes. Review and callback URLs contain scoped secrets: share only with the intended reviewer or callback provider. Never expose your account API key in those links.

API requests allow 120 per account per minute. JSON bodies are limited to 64 KiB. Responses use Unix seconds for timestamps. Error format is {"error":{"code":"...","message":"..."}}. Retry 429/503 with backoff; use idempotency_key for review/inbox creation. A 402 credits_exhausted error means your credit balance is empty; it is not an x402 payment challenge.
